Day 6. Hamburg - Sittensen
Distance 69,2 km, Av. speed 13,8, Time riden 5h
On the road again after a well deserved rest in Hamburg. Well our trip didn't go as we planned. Got lost two times in some wierd fucking woods. As if that wasn't enough, the autobahn was under construction, and some of the bridges were out of order. SHIT.
We tried to ask some locals for directions but they tended to allways show us "their" routes. By the time we got to Sittenseen, we were so tired, that we took the first Gasthaus we saw and went to sleep...
Day 7. Sittenseen - Bremen
Distance 67,1 km, Av. speed 14,9, Time riden ??h
The easiest riding so far. The route was well marked, flat and nice. Weather was exelent and we got to Bremen just before a massive thunderstorm :)
Stopped for a coffee in a Melkhus
On the road
Day 8. Bremen - Osnabrück
Distance 50+ km, Av. speed: slow, Time riden: dunno
We drove about 25km out of Bremen and realised we had made a wrong turn somewhere. We were supposed to go camping somewhere near Osnabrück, but the camping place was nowhere on our current (wrong) route.
So, we did a u-turn and headed back to Bremen. Of course it started raining cats and dogs as well...
I had contacted Ron in Osnabrück earlier and we took the train there.
We had a great warm welcome to Osnabrück by the local bike club, Peace City Pedals. They accomodated us for two night, showed us around the local pubs. We even had a German BBQ.
I even got a new spacer for my chain tensioner.
Back to Bremen train station
First train on the trip
Having beers with Johnny, Ron and Dan
BBQ at Dans place
Day 9. Osnabrück - Rheine
Distance 57,2 km, Av. speed: 13,3, Time riden:4 hours
It was a rainy morning in Osnabrück. Johnny insured us that the rain would stop on the city limits. He was right. Funny shit.
Nothing much happend, here's a few pics....
Stopped for lunch somewhere... Easy riding along a canal
Day 10. Rheine - Enchede
Distance 40 km, Av. speed: 12,3, Time riden:3 hours 12 min
It rained A LOT. Despite our rain gear, we got soaked, tired and really pissed off. By the time we were in Ochtrup, we were so tired of the weather, we decided to take the train (again).
But at least we finally got out of Germany and into the Neatherlands
Lovely trainstation in Gronau
Finally in Enchede
To be continued...
